Safety Precautions

Your Safety & Comfort Are Our Top Priorities

At Brian P. Ganley, DMD Family Dentistry, we are committed to providing the highest standard of care in a clean, safe, and comfortable environment. Our team follows rigorous infection control protocols that meet or exceed guidelines from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the American Dental Association (ADA), and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA).

Our Commitment to Infection Control

Your health and safety have always been—and will always be—our top priority. We maintain the highest standards of sterilization and infection control to protect every patient who walks through our doors.

Sterilization & Disinfection

Instrument Sterilization:

  • All dental instruments are thoroughly cleaned and sterilized using autoclaves after every use
  • We use sterile, single-use disposable items whenever possible
  • Sterilization indicators are used to verify effectiveness of our sterilization process
  • All equipment is packaged and sealed until your appointment

Treatment Room Protocols:

  • All surfaces are thoroughly disinfected between every patient
  • Operatory chairs, lights, and equipment are covered with protective barriers that are changed after each patient
  • High-volume suction systems minimize aerosols during treatment

Hand Hygiene:

  • Our team follows strict handwashing protocols before and after treating each patient
  • Fresh gloves are worn for every patient
  • Hand sanitizing stations are available throughout the office for your use

State-of-the-Art Safety Equipment

We invest in the latest technology and protective equipment to ensure your safety:

  • Digital X-Rays - Reduce radiation exposure by up to 90% compared to traditional film x-rays
  • Intraoral Cameras - Allow for minimally invasive examinations
  • Disposable Barriers - Used on all surfaces during treatment
  • Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) - Our clinical team wears appropriate PPE including masks, gloves, protective eyewear, and gowns
  • Modern Ventilation - Our HVAC system with HEPA filtration provides fresh, clean air circulation

COVID-19 & Respiratory Illness Protocols

While COVID-19 is no longer a widespread concern, we continue to follow best practices for respiratory illness prevention:

  • If you're experiencing symptoms of any contagious illness (fever, cough, sore throat), please call to reschedule - no penalty
  • We maintain enhanced air filtration and ventilation throughout our office
  • Masks are available upon request for those who prefer them
  • Staff can wear N95 masks if it makes you feel more comfortable
  • Our infection control protocols remain at the highest standard
